Navigating Anxiety and Post-Pandemic Challenges for Parents

Dear Parents at E.S Gish and Sir Alexander Mackenzie, please join us for a presentation on Tuesday June 14th, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at Elmer S Gish School (77 Akins Drive St Albert).

The presentation is to help you navigate anxiety and post-pandemic challenges in parenting your children. Dr. Shawn Reynolds, Inclusive Learning Team Psychologist with St. Albert Public Schools, will lead a discussion about anxiety, resiliency, and self-care, focusing on practical strategies you can use in your home to help you and your children maintain mental health in the coming months.

A little about Dr Shawn Reynolds

Dr. Shawn Reynolds has been a psychologist for over 20 years and has focused his work on strategies to help students reach their academic and emotional potential while emphasizing their strengths and blessings. He presents regularly on a range of areas, including autism, anxiety, and resiliency, with an emphasis this year on self-care during the pandemic. He consults with St. Albert Public Schools and other local school divisions in the Edmonton region, and also maintains a private practice in St. Albert focusing on psychoeducational assessments for students with learning challenges. He is married, with daughters aged 20 and 15, and knows that personal experience can be a better teacher than graduate school.

We've compiled a list of family, support and educational resources for parents and students. Please click here to view the list on the division website.
